How this folio uses cookies
This note sits beside the privacy ledger. It is written for the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and UK GDPR, in the same clerk’s English as the rest of the site. Casinoonnetvirtualvegas is an editorial comparison page, not a casino. We keep the jar small on purpose.
What a “cookie” means on this gilt sheet
A cookie is a small file a site can store on your device. Browsers also offer localStorage, which we use for two preference flags. PECR cares about storing or accessing information on your equipment, so we describe both. We do not use the banner to smuggle a 200-vendor list. If that ever changes, this page will grow and look uglier, which is the point.
Files we treat as strictly necessary
The age overlay must remember that you already confirmed you are 18 or over. Without that memory, the dark gate would return on every refresh and the folio would flicker. We store that memory in localStorage under the key Casinoonnetvirtualvegas_age with a simple value. It is not a marketing profile. It is a door-stop. You can refuse by leaving the site instead of confirming.
Security logs on the server are not cookies. They are request records. They may include an IP address. They exist so the host can see abuse. They are described in the privacy ledger because they are personal data, not because they are biscuits.
The preference bar at the top
After you pass the age gate, a fixed bar may ask you to accept or decline a preference flag. That flag lives at Casinoonnetvirtualvegas_cookies. Accept and decline both store a value so the bar can hide. Decline does not secretly enable extra tracking. If we later add analytics cookies, they will only fire after a genuine accept, and this section will name the tool. Today the bar is mostly a memory of your answer, plus a link back to this page.
Fonts and other third-party calls
The folio links EB Garamond and Inter from Google Fonts. Your browser may request those files from Google’s servers, which can see your IP address and user-agent. That is not our first-party cookie. You can block third-party fonts in the browser; the page remains usable in a system serif and sans. We do not load a tag manager. We do not drop a Facebook pixel. We do not run a heat-map overlay that records your cursor over the gold buttons.
When you leave for a casino
Claim Bonus controls can send you through an affiliate path. The operator or the network may then set cookies to remember that a click came from this folio. Those cookies are not ours to switch off from this page. If you want them gone, use the destination’s own notice, the network’s opt-out if they publish one, and your browser’s site-data tools. Commission may follow a registration. Your cashier activity does not flow back into our localStorage keys.
How to refuse, clear, or start again
Use the Decline control on the bar. Clear “cookies and other site data” for casinoonnetvirtualvegas.com in your browser settings if you want the age gate and the bar to return. Private windows often forget localStorage when they close. Browser-level blockers can stop third-party fonts and some outbound trackers. We will not punish a decline by breaking the layout. We will not interpret silence as a yes; the bar stays available until you answer, after the age confirmation.
On a shared device, clearing site data is the kind thing to do when you leave. The next person should meet the age overlay, not your leftover “confirmed” flag.
Storage we actually name
Casinoonnetvirtualvegas_age — set when you confirm you are an adult; removed if you clear site data. Casinoonnetvirtualvegas_cookies — set when you accept or decline the bar. No other first-party keys are part of the boot script. If a future feature needs another key, it will be listed here before it ships. We will not hide a new tracker under a poetic name.
Updates to this note
If we add analytics, embedded video, or a chat widget, this page will gain a row that names the vendor, the purpose, and whether it is optional. Cosmetic edits to headings do not reset PECR. The live URL is the version that counts. Questions: dataprotection@casinoonnetvirtualvegas.com. General mail: contact@casinoonnetvirtualvegas.com.
